To Ensure the operation of Housekeepers and Public Areas to ensure that guest rooms and common areas are delivered to the Guest in accordance with established standards and functionality expected to achieve the Guest's satisfaction and comfort

Operational Activities

  • Responsible for the Housekeeping, Public Areas and Laundry departments.
  • Define the strategy to ensure compliance with the KPIs established for their departments.
  • Proactively make suggestions to the Room Division Manager to improve guest satisfaction.
  • Develop schedules, plan vacations, absences and leaves based on occupancy and operational requirements.
  • Participate in the meetings of departmental managers to which he/she is summoned for operational and administrative management.
  • Acknowledge and comply with the standards established by Marriott as well as the type of memberships existing in the Marriott Bonvoy program.
  • Acknowledge and make known to its collaborators all the SOPs and policies related to the Housekeeping, Public Areas, and laundry department.
  • Coordinate the review and detection of room discrepancies daily.
  • Ensure the supply, correct use, surveillance, and conservation of the department's operational and personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure the registration, storage, return and release authorization of lost and found items managed by the department.
  • Monitor the compliance of third-party vendors and similar partners working for the department and report any incidents.
  • Manage the administration and operation of the Housekeeping and Public Areas departments to ensure that the cleaning, hygiene, presentation, supplies and amenities of rooms, public areas and service areas meet the highest level of quality, in accordance with the standards established by the company.
  • Ensure the inspection of the rooms, ensuring that they are in optimal conditions of cleanliness and maintenance, so that the standards of services and satisfaction to the Guest are met and detect needs and establish programs of cyclical deep cleaning, rehabilitation, redecoration, improvements, etc.
  • Ensure the implementation of standards of cleanliness, presentation, supplies and amenities in rooms and common areas, in accordance with what is established for each type of room.
  • Ensure that visual inspection tours are carried out, verifying the condition of corridors, wardrobes, stairs,
  • elevators, and basements, to keep the room areas and public areas clean and presentable.
  • Ensure that the staff in charge complies with the guidelines and training criteria regarding cleanliness and work standards.
  • Ensure the implementation of standards of cleanliness, presentation, supplies, and amenities in rooms
  • according to what is established for each type of room.
  • Ensures the correct management and operation of the room status system, and the timely availability of rooms for sale.
  • Assign the room and building sections to the maids to clean the rooms.
  • Take a tour of VIP’s buildings and rooms.
  • Maintain constant communication with the Maintenance Manager regarding preventive and corrective
  • maintenance in rooms and areas under his/her responsibility, ensuring that they are carried out in a timely manner.
  • Report major damage to the Maintenance Management to place the rooms out of service (blockage).
  • Delegate the dismantling of out-of-service buildings, monitoring the deep cleaning of buildings.
  • Schedule rotating maintenance on mattresses every 6 months.
  • Establish room cleaning schedules (weekly, monthly, semi-annual).
  • Ensure that master keys are returned each day to the assigned Department.
  • Assign work to Second Shift Supervision daily based on the day's to-dos and priorities.
  • Carry out, together with the Housekeeper, the assignment of shifts, schedules, and workloads of the personnel in her charge, ensuring that the distribution allows productivity and excellent service to the Guest.

Guest Satisfaction & Quality Control

  • Follow up on guest feedback with the goal of understanding areas of opportunity and their expectations.
  • Establish action plans together with the team, with the aim of ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Verify the incidents detected in the service audits, to make the necessary modifications or corrections.

Personnel & Training

  • Participate in the selection and evaluation of Housekeeping, Public Areas, and laundry staff.
  • Inform, monitor, and train Housekeeper, Public Areas and Laundry employees in the company's policies, processes and procedures.
  • Lead, listen, and converse with team members to engage them in achieving KPIs.
  • Quarterly review the BDR Center platform to update with the necessary trainings.
  • Ensure compliance with schedules, disciplinary rules, and assigned tasks.
  • Ensure that the entire department has been instructed on risk prevention issues, emergency protocols, and environmental programs.

Finance

  • Review the department's monthly budgets, to meet cost and extra income goals.
  • Comply with the procedures established by the Finance department.
  • Verify the incidents detected in the service audits, to make the necessary modifications or corrections.
  • Manage the control of the department's expenses and costs through the proper monitoring of the
  • stock of bedding, supplies, operating equipment, cleaning equipment, cleaning supplies, resources, and others.
  • Manage the monthly inventory reflecting the losses of operational equipment, for replenishment follow-up.
  • Manage expenses according to the budget authorized to the department.
  • Authorize decommissioning of operational equipment inventory.
