Overview:
Our client is a leading regional engineering consultancy serving Barbados, the Caribbean, and global markets. Due to growth, they are seeking to employ a proven professional to add to the team.
The focus of this role is to coordinate multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring design compliance, and support infrastructure design.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Produce 2D & 3D models and drawings for all project stages.
• Create BIM documentation and coordinate with various disciplines using Bentley or Autodesk BIM Solutions.
• Produce detailed drawings using AutoCAD or other industry-standard drafting software.
• Check and ensure accuracy and quality of outputs.
• Manage project time to meet deadlines.
• Create project-related correspondence and reports.
• Conduct field and site inspections and assessments under supervision or independently.
• Participate in presentations and workshops.
• Seek further development opportunities with provided guidance and feedback.
• Set up linked models and coordinate models across disciplines.
• Follow established BIM execution plans and adhere to project-specific documentation.
• Ensure models align with standards and goals set in BIM Execution Plan and BIM project workflow criteria.
• Create discipline-specific BIM Modelling content.
• Develop accurate construction drawings and extract data based on the discipline BIM platform.
• Generate detailed reinforcement drawings and structural steel drawings.
• Ensure drawing production follows company standards.
• Review models/drawings to check compliance with design.
• Perform clash detection, resolution, and reporting to ensure a coordinated design.
• Use BIM authoring tools to provide technical support and mentoring to the project team.
• Manage Common Data Environments (e.g., BIM360, SharePoint, Aconex, OneBH GeoStore).
• Compile BIM Execution Plans.
• Support civil infrastructure design and master planning using GIS tools.
• Mentor junior members of the team.
Requirements
• HNC/HND in Civil Engineering (Structures/Civil) or equivalent with 2D/3D modelling skills.
• Proficiency in CAD and 3D design packages (Bentley MicroStation, OpenBridge, Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD).
• Experience delivering BIM-based structural engineering drawings for Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel.
• Strong technical expertise in infrastructure design (highways, utilities, earthworks) and clash detection.
• Ability to lead structural drawings delivery, mentor junior technicians, and manage Civil Infrastructure Technicians.
• Proven experience managing commercial and residential projects of various sizes, from small to large-scale.
• Minimum 4-5 years of experience in a consulting business environment.
