Overview:
Our client is a leading regional engineering consultancy serving Barbados, the Caribbean, and global markets. Due to growth, they are seeking to employ a proven professional to add to the team.
The focus of this role is to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with industry standards, and contribute to innovative, sustainable engineering solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Design and analyze structural and civil systems for buildings and infrastructure.
• Perform structural calculations, modeling, and simulations.
• Prepare design documentation, reports, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to ensure project success.
• Conduct feasibility studies and develop detailed civil engineering designs.
• Support tender submissions, project proposals, and quality assurance processes.
• Stay updated on industry trends and contribute to internal technical development.
• Assist in site inspections and construction supervision to ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Evaluate project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
• Develop and implement innovative engineering solutions to improve project efficiency and sustainability.
• Assist in obtaining necessary permits and approvals for construction projects.
• Conduct material and structural testing to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Liaise with contractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• 4-5 years of experience in structural/civil engineering.
• Proficiency in analysis software (CSC Fastrak, TEDDS, ROBOT, ETABS, SAFE) & AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience with British, US, and European codes of practice.
• Strong technical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proven experience managing commercial and residential projects of various sizes, from small to large-scale.
• Professional registration or eligibility preferred.
