This role is responsible for fostering harmonious relations between the management and employees within the organization. It will support the Strategic Human Resource Functions of the department he/she will provide HR and IR service.
Employee Relations Specialist
Qualification:
● Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resource Management, or a related field.
● Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in employee relations, industrial relations or a
related HR role, preferably in the hospitality sector
●Proven experience in conflict resolution, negotiation and grievance handling.
● Proficiency in the use of Google Suites
Requirements/ Job Specification:
● Managing all employee grievances promptly and effectively, ensuring that they are resolved
in a timely, fair and just manner.
● Managing the entire disciplinary process, ensuring compliance with Jamaica’s labour laws.
● Act as a trusted advisor to both employees and management, balancing the interests of all
parties while maintaining the organization’s values and objectives.
●Ensuring the company’s practices comply with Jamaica’s labour laws and regulations.
● Provide guidance and advice to the Senior Management team on all employee related
issues and practices.
● Leading the development and implementation of industrial relations policies, procedures,
and practices that comply with Jamaica labour laws and organizational goals.
● Educate employees and other stakeholders on HR policies and procedures through
workshop or other means, to bolster knowledge and adherence to the same.
● Advising management on appropriate disciplinary actions to ensure that they are
conducted in accordance with legal and organizational standards.
● Assisting with programs to improve employee engagement, satisfaction, and morale.
● Identifying and recommending improvements to industrial relations processes and practices
to enhance overall employee relations.
●Liaise with external agencies, including Ministry of Labour and legal advisors, as necessary
to address industrial relations issues.
● Preparing and presenting regular reports on industrial relations activities, issues, and
resolutions to the HR Director.
●Maintaining accurate records of all industrial relations matters, including grievances,
disputes, negotiations, and disciplinary actions.
● Facilitating effective communication between management and employees, ensuring that
employees are informed and their voices are heard.
