Job Summary: The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for executing electrical installation, and repairing electrical systems within the commercial, and industrial settings on an assigned project basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install electrical wiring, fixtures, equipment, and systems in accordance with applicable electrical codes and safety regulations.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications to determine the layout, installation, and configuration of electrical systems.
  • Perform electrical inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostic assessments to identify and resolve electrical problems and malfunctions.
  • Install and troubleshoot electrical components, such as switches, outlets, circuit breakers, transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, and replacing worn-out or defective parts.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure the timely completion of electrical projects, and minimize disruptions to operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed via the company system/tracking tool.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure safe work practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) 
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on work progress, and other issues

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship program or technical training in Electrical Installation level two (2) or Electrical Installation level three (3)
  • Certification in Electrical Inspection level four (4) or Electrical Inspection level five (5) would be an asset
  • Certification in mechanical installation and servicing would be an asset.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience as an electrician or similar role, with demonstrated proficiency in complex electrical installations, maintenance, and repair work would be an asset.
  • Valid Electrician's license or certification issued by a recognized authority would be an asset
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards, with the ability to apply them effectively in the workplace.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical problems efficiently.
  • Proficiency in using electrical tools, equipment, and testing instruments, such as multimeters, voltage testers, and conduit benders.
  • Ability to lead or foster a culture of safety, excellence, and teamwork.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and clients.
  • Commitment to safety, professionalism, and delivering high-quality workmanship.
