Diploma in Maritime Operations - Navigation
Description:
The Diploma in Maritime Operations – Navigation programme seeks to contribute towards eligibility to be awarded a Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) UK certificate ‘STCW UNDERPINNING KNOWLEDGE’ which subsequently (on completion of additional professional STCW short courses, sea training and successful passes in the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) written safety examinations and MCA oral examination) will make the student eligible to be awarded a first certificate of competency as a deck officer (Officer of the Watch) in the merchant navy. Further, the programme seeks to provide students with a university based education leading to the award of a Diploma in Maritime Operations – Navigation.
