Consumer Finance Clerk

Primary Responsibilities:

• Greet customers, advise of and sell the best possible product/service to exceed the customer’s expectation and establish long-term customer relationships
• Actively participate in marketing events and calls to customers to encourage repeat business and achieve daily, weekly and monthly cash loan sales targets
• Ensure all accounts booked are actioned accurately and in a timely manner by following up on incomplete accounts and outstanding bookings reports
• Collect and count cash confidentially, accurately posting payments to specified accounts, closing off daily cash received and reconciling end of day takings in presence of Store Manager.
• Manage and rectify all overages/shortages in line with policy to ensure accuracy and accountability. 
• Maintain all relevant files and records regarding receipts, refunds, corrections and cashier’s reconciliations and cash on a daily basis to ensure all documents are kept safely and confidentially
• Clear tills during the day in accordance with branch’s limit and passes all monies to the Store Manager to recheck and deposit in the rotary safe.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Required:

• Must be organized, self-motivated, persistent and committed
• Team player who is results-oriented and able to cope well in stress-related environments
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to sell up and cross-sell
• Experience in a customer service environment

Education and Experience Required:

• Five (5) GCE/CXC/CSEC Ordinary level passes - two of which must be English Language & Mathematics
• One (1) year sales experience (preferred)
