Our client, the Agricultural Development Bank of Trinidad and Tobago invites applicants for the position of Chief Executive Officer.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effectively coordinates the operations of the Bank in accordance with the Policies and Procedures as approved by the Board of Directors. The CEO provides strategic direction and leadership with the support of a motivated and effective executive team in pursuit of its goals and objectives, guides the Bank’s investment and marketing strategies in a prudent and innovative manner responsive to customer needs, and implements and monitors the approved strategies, plans and policies for all functional areas of the organization in accordance with corporate objectives.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Post graduate qualifications in Economics, Finance or Marketing
• Minimum of eight (8) years senior executive experience
• Highly developed skills in strategic leadership, Financial and Credit Management / Evaluation
• Training / exposure in commercial or development banking operations
Key Responsibilities:
• Engages in strategic planning, the establishment and implementation of short term and intermediate goals.
• Establishes the Bank’s policies in accordance with Board directives, ensuring that they are documented and communicated throughout the organization.
• Implements control techniques and systems which readily highlight deviations from plans, and which ensure corrective action is taken.
• Ensures that the organizational structure is tailored to meet the needs of the organization; that best human resources policies, practices and procedures are implemented and that mechanisms are in place for the development of the human resources.
• Ensure maintenance of appropriate culture and morale throughout the Bank.
• Guides the Bank’s investment and marketing strategies in a prudent and innovative manner responsive to the needs of the agricultural and rural sectors.
• Ensures that there is excellent internal and external communication, that the Bank is well
represented at all relevant foray and that the Bank is a good corporate citizen.
• Adheres to statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Prepares the annual business plan and budget in accordance with the Bank’s overall direction and submits these to the Board.
• Pursues new funding sources for broadening the capital base of the Bank.
• Maintains liaison with agencies responsible for funding and supporting the Bank.
• Maintains strategic relationships with national, regional and international sector stakeholders.
• Implement measures to contribute to regional sector growth and development.
• To create, build and lead cross-functional teams.
• To develop entrepreneurial and customer centric culture to broaden the customer base of the Bank.
• To provide leadership and motivation to the Executive Management Team, to have them
execute the Corporate Goals.
