The export Centres Company Limited (ECCL) is seeking a dynamic, results-driven leader to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CEO must be passionate about driving organizational success and empowering local artisans to achieve global recognition and will lead ECCL’s mission of fostering entrepreneurial growth and expanding Trinidad and Tobago’s craft industry into the export market.

About ECCL

ECCL, a state agency under the Ministry of Sport and Community Development, is dedicated to promoting sustainable community development through craft and entrepreneurial training. Our goal is to create a thriving, export-oriented local craft industry that contributes to Trinidad and Tobago’s economic diversification.

 

The Opportunity

As CEO, you will report to the Board of Directors and provide visionary leadership to achieve ECCL’s strategic objectives. This role demands a proven leader with a strategic mindset, exceptional organizational acumen, and the ability to build and sustain value-adding relationships with key stakeholders. You will oversee all operational, financial, and developmental activities, ensuring ECCL’s long-term success in driving innovation and growth in the local craft sector.

 Key Responsibilities

 Vision, Strategy, and Leadership

  • Drive the development and execution of ECCL’s strategic plans.
  • Provide actionable insights to the Board on external environmental shifts.
  • Lead and inspire the management team to meet organizational goals.

Innovation and Growth

  • Identify and leverage opportunities to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Champion talent management and organizational capacity-building initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement across ECCL.

Stakeholder Engagement

  •  Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including artisans, government agencies, and business partners.
  • Represent ECCL at key public and private sector events.
  • Provide comprehensive updates and reports to the Board.

Financial and Operational Oversight

  • Ensure fiscal responsibility through the development and adherence to budgets.
  • Uphold compliance with financial, procurement, and corporate governance regulations.
  • Oversee the optimization of internal business processes and ensure legal compliance.

 Qualifications and Experience

  • Academic Credentials: Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Economics, Entrepreneurship, or related fields.
  • Leadership Experience: At least three (3) years as a CEO and ten (10) years in senior management, preferably in a state enterprise or similar organization.
  • Additional Certifications: Credentials in entrepreneurship, leadership, corporate governance, financial management, or related areas will be an asset.
  • Industry Expertise: Familiarity with the local craft industry, export markets, and entrepreneurial development is highly desirable.
