CATEGORY MANAGER 

 The Role

The incumbent will lead a portfolio that will need exceptional sales skills along with some marketing efforts. Must create and grow product portfolio market share, maintain relationships with suppliers, for all assigned product categories, ensuring the flow of sales in the Subsidiary.

  •  Utilizes tailored selling strategies to cater to customer needs while driving product sales effectively.
  • Implements initiatives to enhance sales performance, gross margins, return on investment, and inventory turnover.
  • Manages existing accounts and cultivates new ones by strategically planning daily work schedules for outreach to current or prospective sales outlets, while considering various trade dynamics.
  • Collaborates with the Product & Marketing Manager in devising promotions focused on specific products.
  • Predicts monthly sales, gross margins, and inventory levels to facilitate effective inventory management.
  • Monitors market competition by gathering up-to-date information on pricing, products, new releases, delivery schedules, and merchandising tactics.
  • Customizes sales presentations based on the nature of the sales outlet or trade factors.
  • Recommends adjustments in products, services, and policies after evaluating performance and competitive trends.
  • Addresses customer grievances by investigating issues, developing solutions, generating reports, and offering recommendations to management.
  • Maintains professional expertise by attending workshops, staying updated with industry publications, building professional connections, and engaging in relevant professional associations.
  • Maintains comprehensive records of area and customer sales for historical reference.
  • Contributes to team objectives by achieving related outcomes as necessary.

 

The preferred candidate:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Sales or Information Technology.
  • Over 3 years’ experience in Sales, Marketing or Commerce. Ideally the prospectus will have worked as a Product Manager in IT wholesaler, Manufacturer Software, any Computer, or brand management company.
  • Must have experience with retail marketing and FMCG.
  • Practical and results-oriented with a strong inclination and polished negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral are important.
  • Be able to conduct business in Spanish and English.
