Business Support Specialist - Infrastructure
 
Position Description:
IT Infrastructure position focuses on the design, integration, implementation, and maintenance of hardware and software systems, as well as cloud services. Key functions include developing requirements, managing system resources, monitoring performance, overseeing cloud services, enforcing security procedures, and handling system updates and configurations. Additionally, the specialist must ensure compliance with security policies and provide support to end-users' desktop infrastructure.
 
Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform general maintenance and resolve complex network/system/hardware/software issues.
  • Install and maintain servers, desktops, operating systems, VoIP infrastructure, printers, firewalls, switches, and cabling.
  • Oversee data backup, replication, and health reporting.
  • Data center environment and security management
  • Provision and maintain virtual server infrastructure.
  • Monitor server health and resource utilization.
  • Monitor and maintain cloud services such as SaaS and STaaS and troubleshoot cloud-related issues.
  • Test and update business continuity mechanisms.
  • Conduct infrastructure monitoring and event management.
  • Manage data center facilities, and local and wide area networks.
  • Support application installation for business units.
  • Manage hardware lifecycles and maintain an up-to-date inventory.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation.
  • Supervise and schedule 3rd party support and interactions.
  • User support for desktop infrastructure.
  • Administer and maintain end-point security.
Academic qualifications and experience required:
  • First degree in Computer Science or related field
  • At least 5 years’ experience
  • Basic project management experience
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server administration in a domain environment, Hypervisor and Microsoft 365 cloud services would be an asset.

  • Flexible working outside of normal working hours when required.
  • Team player with problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
