The Business Development Officer’s primary responsibility is to directly manage the assigned Merchant
and Wholesale accounts in the Jamaica market, covering airtime transactions, Digital Products, Bill
Payments, Lottery and other lines of businesses as required.
JOB SUMMARY
The Business Development Officer’s primary responsibility is to directly manage the assigned Merchant
and Wholesale accounts in the Jamaica market, covering airtime transactions, Digital Products, Bill
Payments, Lottery and other lines of businesses as required. This position demands a well-organized
individual with an analytical approach and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
● Develop and maintain good relationships with new resellers, providers and colleagues to ensure delivery of products.
● Deliver budgeted sales & margins as per the approved sales plan or annual revenue target
● Make the agreed number of daily sales calls (in person & on the phone) to existing and potential customers.
● Gather relevant market information for assigned areas and communicate to the Sales team lead.
● Monitor sales trends and payment history of Agents/Retailers in area assigned. Ensuring receivable collections are maintained and are within credit limits approved by management.
● Identify new business opportunities within assigned areas and take responsibility for personally closing those opportunities out.
● Work closely with Marketing to keep abreast of new products & services available for selling.
● Review and implement in conjunction with the Team Leader/Regional Sales Manager the most effective methods of approaching new customers.
● Engage in upselling/cross selling other company products when appropriate.
● “On call” duty for customers who need servicing after hours.
● Ensure branded materials are installed at all merchants
● Meet agreed frequency and service level agreements
PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
● AOP targets and KPI’s are achieved as per the strategic plan of the company.
● Clear evidence of the analysis and management of non-performing clients while monitoring all
associated costs.
● Maintain good relationship with our clients and retain their business
● Appropriate use of the required tools in the field and account database updated

The Business Development Officer is accountable for:

QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
● Secondary School Education required with passes in Mathematics and English Language
● One to two years of related work experience
● Unrestricted access to a vehicle in good working order and a valid driver's license
● Good knowledge of the country map, routes and division.

● Comfort using computers, must be adept in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, Access to a basic level, Internet and email
● Willingness to work flexible hours and follow tight deadlines
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
● Must be willing and able to work flexible hours if required
● Must own and operate a reliable, roadworthy vehicle
● Must be available to travel island wide
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Liaises with all departments.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Required to visit customers/vendors in respective territories. Normal working hours Mondays through Fridays,
although flexibility is required to be available to solve issues for customers/vendors whose operating
hours fall outside of these; sometimes required to work beyond normal hours to achieve deadlines.
