Bartender/Mixologist

Job Overview:
The Bartender/Mixologist is responsible for preparing and serving a wide range of beverages, including cocktails, wines, and non-alcoholic drinks, while providing outstanding customer service. This role combines creativity and mixology expertise to enhance the guest experience and contribute to the overall success of the bar.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Craft and serve a diverse selection of cocktails, specialty drinks, and non-alcoholic beverages with a focus on quality and presentation.
  • Provide exceptional service by engaging with guests, making recommendations, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Stay informed about the beverage menu, including ingredients and preparation methods, to answer customer questions and suggest pairings.
  • Assist in managing bar inventory, inclusive of informing the Manager when approaching minimum stock, ordering supplies when required, tracking stock levels, and minimizing waste.
  • Ensure the bar area is always clean, organized, and well-stocked, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Train other staff members on mixology techniques, drink preparation, and customer service standards.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, new spirits, and cocktail techniques to enhance the bar offerings.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of special events, tastings, and promotions to drive bar sales.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Bartender or Mixologist in a fast-paced restaurant or bar environment.
  • Certification in bartending will be an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, and beers, with a passion for mixology.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to connect with guests.
  • Effective communication and multitasking abilities.
  • Certification in responsible beverage service and knowledge of local alcohol laws is preferred.
  • Creativity and a desire to experiment with new flavors and drink recipes.
  • The ability to mix drinks and serve with flair is an asset.

Working Conditions:
  • Fast-paced bar environment with high customer interaction.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays is required.
  • Physical demands may include standing for long periods and lifting heavy items.
