AUDIT SENIOR I

Baker Tilly (Barbados) SCC is an independent member firm of Baker Tilly International and is currently seeking highly motivated Audit Seniors.

 

AUDIT SENIOR I

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning and performance of statutory audits, in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA) and International Standards on Quality Management 1 (ISQM1).
  • Preparation of tax returns for individuals and companies in accordance with the relevant tax legislation.
  • Preparation of financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the International Financial Reporting Standard for Small and Medium-Sized Entities (IFRS for SMEs) or any other relevant standards.
  • Research tax, corporate and other legislative enactments to provide guidance to clients and staff.
  • Assist with the training and review of work of Audit Assistants.

 

Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required

  • A University degree in Accounting (First or Second Class Honours) or the equivalent credits in a recognized professional accounting program.
  • Enrolled in a recognized professional accounting program and have reached level III in ACCA program or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years experience in preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and IFRS for SMEs.
  • Must be committed to working as part of a team.
  • Emotionally intelligent with interpersonal skills set that builds trust and goodwill in relationships with internal colleagues and external clients
  • Experience in an external audit environment as well as a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Peachtree, QuickBooks or Accpac software.
  • Experience with CaseWare Working Papers and International Standards on Auditing.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to quality.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.

 

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the selected individuals that will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, including Group Health Insurance.
