Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Treasury team in the capacity of:

Assistant Manager - Treasury & Trading 

Provide support in managing the liquidity of the bank in order to achieve the budgeted targets and execute the department’s strategies.

Assist in the acquisition of suitable assets as per the Bank’s Investment Policy.

Make trading decisions within the guidelines of the strategy.

Facilitate the execution of trades in the absence of the Fixed Income Trader.

Develop product and maintain active relations with internal and external clients.

Assist in meeting the regulatory requirements set by the Central Bank.

Location: Kingston

As an Assistant Manager – Treasury & Trading, you will:

• Ensure that daily funding requirements of the company are met within the established guidelines set by the Asset and Liability Committee.
• Action daily maturity reports and maintain logs with written information detailing repayment methodology.
• Monitor Bank of Jamaica account for incoming payments as well as allocate funding for settlement of daily obligations.
• Assist in responding to client correspondence and queries both internally and externally.
• Provide support or relief to the Foreign Exchange (FX) Trading desk.
• Research and rectify Treasury related transactions outstanding on the accounting Reconciliation General Ledger.
• Prepare reports as requested by Manager or Head of Department.
• Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.

What do you need?

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
• At least two (2) years’ working experience in a commercial bank.
• At least 1 year working experience in a Treasury or Trading environment.
• Good negotiating skills.
• Sound knowledge of computer software packages such as word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of the local and international markets.
• Able to make sound decisions and meet deadlines in dynamic and fast paced environment.
