We are seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to join our Accounts Department as the Assistant Accountant. The ideal candidate will oversee and manage the financial operations of our firm, ensuring adherence to sound accounting principles and practices.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to join our Accounts Department as the Assistant Accountant. The ideal candidate will oversee and manage the financial operations of our firm, ensuring adherence to sound accounting principles and practices. This role involves providing financial insights to management and contributing to the seamless functioning of the department’s daily operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing monthly and annual financial reports, including management accounts, variance reports and analysis.
  • Assist in preparing external financial reports including draft financial statements and accounting schedules.
  • Perform financial analyses to support decision-making.
  • Generate accurate monthly and annual management reports.
  • Prepare timely payment of corporate taxes, income taxes, VAT, Green Fund Levy and Business Levy.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Review and verify payroll to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in formulating the annual budget and comprehensive budget guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Accountant and management team as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: ACCA Level 2 certification
  • Experience: 4–5 years in an accounting environment. Supervisory experience is a strong asset.
  • Skills and Personal Attributes:
    • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality, trustworthiness and professionalism.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and accounting software.
    • Accuracy in processing financial transactions and preparing detailed reports.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Commitment to fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
    • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities to meet strict deadlines.
    • The ability to accept feedback and maintain a proactive attitude toward professional development.
