Assistant Accountant, ANSA Merchant Bank Barbados

To provide support to the Accountant, Senior Accountant and Finance Manager in the financial reporting processes of the Bank. The Assistant Accountant also supports various aspects of the monthly Financial Statement Close Process and annual external audit of the Bank.

This role will be located in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Assistant Accountant will provide support to the Accountant, Senior Accountant and Finance Manager in the financial reporting processes of the Bank. The Assistant Accountant also supports various aspects of the monthly Financial Statement Close Process and annual external audit of the Bank.

Job Description:

• Preparation of bank reconciliations for bank accounts on a weekly and monthly basis
• Accurate and timely reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts
• Update, maintain and reconcile Fixed Asset Register including recalculation of depreciation, adjusting the general ledger and preparation of related audit schedules.
• Preparation and submission of Central Bank of Barbados Returns in accordance with regulatory requirements at least one week in advance of the deadline date
• Perform all duties in conformance with appropriate health, safety, security and environmental policies/ procedures
• Contribute towards the attainment of Ansa McAL first time quality target
• Complete any other duties as assigned by the Accountant, Senior Accountant and Finance Manager

Qualifications and Experience:

• BSc. Accounting and/or ACCA Level II
  Experience
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an Accounting capacity
