The Brydens Group is seeking to recruit a suitable candidate for the following position:

GROUP JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

Job Purpose:

To provide support for the Group Finance Function in all aspects of reporting, compliance, risk management and quality assurance, ensuring that corporate obligations are met and the Group Finance function can effectively partner with all stakeholders of the Business to drive performance and create value.

Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Manages the transactions and reporting related to identified subsidiaries (subsidiaries) within the Group, including preparation of management accounts and other relevant analyses and reports
  • Reconciles all Bank Accounts held by subsidiaries
  • Maintains all general ledgers in VAI/Sage and monthly reconciliation of all major GL accounts of subsidiaries
  • Prepares annual corporation and deferred tax computations of the subsidiaries
  • Prepares year-end Audit packs for subsidiaries and management of their statutory audits
  • Provide support to the Group Senior Accountant and Group Finance Manager for the preparation of consolidated budgets for the Group together with accompanying reports, analyses and presentations
  • Assist with the management of the inter-company reconciliation process across all Group entities ensuring that transactions and balances are accurately recorded, classified and reported by each entity and that differences are posted as agreed by the Group to ensure net NIL inter-company values
  • Provide support to the Group Senior Accountant and Group Finance Manager for the preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements and related reports
  • Prepares summary and detailed variance analysis for month-to-date and year-to-date consolidated P&Ls
  • Coordination of monthly reporting of key AP balances with related payment plans by TT based subsidiaries
  • Preparation of quarterly FX analyses for the Group to ensure visibility of currency volumes acquired and to assist with managing banking relationships
  • Provide support to the  Group Senior Accountant and Group Finance Manager for the preparation of periodic Audit Committee and Board packages
  • Preparation of the monthly Finance Dashboard for circulation to the Group CEO
  • Coordination with subsidiaries for the preparation of (at least quarterly) volume/price variance analyses and preparation of consolidated summary analyses for circulation to the EMC
  • Assists with monthly preparation of the Group’s debt portfolio including assessment of covenant compliance
  • Provide support for the liaison of Internal Audit providers with the Finance functions across all entities

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Completed or Pursuing Level 2 ACCA / CIMA or equivalent
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ accounting experience and two (2) years’ auditing experience
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with supporting multiple stakeholders simultaneously in a high-touch capacity
