The Advocacy Manager provides support to the Caribbean Regional Director and is responsible for coordinating and implementing the advocacy priority activities in keeping with local and global perspectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Advocacy Manager will develop, implement and evaluate advocacy and policy change agendas to promote the work of AHF at national level in consultation with the Caribbean Regional Director and Operations Manager. The incumbent will be required to focus on increasing access to treatment, examining legal frameworks, develop positions papers and policies, design and implement advocacy initiatives in keeping with key priority areas of national interest that directly impacts HIV/AID and promote the Human Rights agenda. This position requires commitment to assisting victims, the ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries, strong communication skills, and the acceptance of social and cultural diversity.

Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Policy and/Advocacy Manager or Legal Counsel
Knowledge of Laws, Acts and policies that are integral to the National Response on HIV/AIDS and Human Rights.
Knowledge of STI/HIV/AIDS Programme planning
Knowledge of the government’s health policies and the Primary Health Care services, especially those relating to family planning, child abuse and substance abuse.
Knowledge & experience in the formulation policy briefs, press releases and articles
Knowledge in contract writing
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong Research Skills
