Purpose of Role

Seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Administrator to join our finance team. The Accounts Payable Assistant will be responsible for managing the company's payment processes, including cheque and wire payments, accruals, deferrals, and reversals. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments in compliance with company policies and procedures.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Process vendor invoices
  • Prepare and issue cheque and wire payments to vendors
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions
  • Assist in month-end closing activities, including accruals, deferrals, and reversals
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve payment-related inquiries
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounts payable processes
  • Maintaining relating expense reports
  • Ability to multitask and multi prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting concepts and principles as evidenced by formal accounting training such as pursuing ACCA level 1 or other accounting programme.
  • Ability to identify and recoomend solutions to problems relating to the job.

 

Qualifications:

 

 

  • Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Administrator or similar role
  • Five (5) CXC O levels including Mathematics, English and Accounts.
  • CAT qualified, or possess Level 1 ACCA or Level 2 ACCA.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
