ACCOUNTING OFFICER

(Regency Blinds-Kingston and Centurion Concrete Products- May Pen)

 Purpose of the Role

To support the financial operations of the company by managing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with IFRS accounting standards and regulations. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to communicate financial information.

 Principal Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS accounting standards, and prepare relevant financial reports.
• Prepare and manage expense reports, ensuring all expenditures are within budget and properly documented.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax filings and audits.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other balance sheet accounts monthly.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations affecting the company.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
• Prepare tax returns (e.g., GCT, income tax) and ensure compliance with regulations.

 Key Competences

• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles and application.
• Practical knowledge of Microsoft tools particularly Excel.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks is considered an advantage.

 Minimum Education & Experience

• First Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Management Studies (with an Accounting major)

or ACCA level 2

• At least 3 years of accounting experience
