JOB DESCRIPTION & SPECIFICATION
POSITION: ACCOUNTING OFFICER– ACCOUNTS PAYABLES & GL
SALARY: $8,100.00
LOCATION: CHAGUANAS / FREEPORT
DEPARTMENT: FINANCE
REPORTS TO: ACCOUNTANT – ACCOUNTS PAYABLES & GL
SUPERVISION GIVEN TO: N/A
PURPOSE: To ensure an accurate position of the Accounts Payables – Local
Trade Payables and Assigned General Ledger Accounts in the Financial Statements
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Accurately prepare and enter Costings in the General Ledger timely to ensure the accurate valuation of Inventory in the Financial statements.
• Reconcile accurately and timely multiple General Ledger Accounts including the GRN Accrual to ensure accurate Financial reporting of Trade Liability.
• Enter accurately and timely multiple supplier invoices and credit notes to ensure accurate Payments and Financial Statements reporting.
• Submit Supplier payments timely (within agreed Credit terms) and accurately to ensure for good Supplier relations and Cash flow control.
• Reconcile timely and accurately multiple supplier statements and the subledger to ensure good supplier relations, and accurate Financial Statements reporting.
• Investigate and escalate any discrepancies with Suppliers statements and payments to ensure good supplier relations, and accurate Financial Statements reporting.
• Enter multiple vouchers coming from multiple departments to ensure accuracy with Expense reporting on the Financial statements.
• Managed aged invoices to not be past 3 months to allow for good supplier relations and accurate Liability reporting.
• Prepare and enter multiple journals for the timely and accurate update of monthly Financial statements.
• Prepare accurately and timely multiple monthly Accruals to ensure accurate accounting and reporting as per Financial standards.
• Perform any other related duty that may be assigned to you by your management line to ensure effective operation of the department.
JOB SPECIFICATION:
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION
• ACCA Level 1
• Certificate in Microsoft Office Suite.
• One year similar experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER ABILITIES
• Must be organized, detail-oriented, persistent and committed, able to cope well in stress- related environments.
• Ability to perform analyses on numerical data and accounting information.
• Working knowledge of accounting software.
• Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team.
