Accounting Officer

On behalf of our client, JOH Investments Limited (JOHI), a licensed securities dealer incorporated in Jamaica and regulated by the Financial Services Commission (FSC), we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Officer to join their growing team.

JOH Investments Limited offers a wide range of financing and investment banking services, including bond trading, portfolio management, and wealth management solutions. As an Accounting Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing daily financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, analyze, and review financial records and statements.
  • Prepare and review ledger balances and monthly accounts.
  • Process invoices, bills, and payments, ensuring accurate transactions.
  • Maintain records of all receipts and payments.
  • Ensure company credit cards and accounts are paid on time.
  • Prepare accounts payable tracker for approval.
  • Review account information to identify and resolve errors.
  • Handle inquiries related to accounts from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track overdue payments and assist with regulatory reporting.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accounting Officer, Accounting Clerk, or similar role.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and financial principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
