Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Disbursement Operations – Payroll team in the capacity of:
Payroll Officer
Prepare the relevant payrolls and the remittance of deductions to the relevant authorities/ institutions in a timely manner.
Prepare monthly reconciliation of payroll-related accounts for sub-ledger accounts to the SUN general ledger.
Prepare monthly S01 and annual S02 returns to the Tax Administration Jamaica within the statutory guidelines.
Location: Kingston
As a Payroll Officer, you will:
- Process monthly payrolls for Sagicor Investments administrative team members.
- Prepare weekly payrolls for administrative team members for Sagicor Bank and Sagicor Investments Jamaica Limited.
- Prepare monthly reconciliation of all payroll accounts to the SUN General Ledger and clear differences.
- Ensure the accurate and complete preparation and notification to internal and external stake holders of monthly non-statutory deductions for all payrolls within a timely manner.
- Ensure the submission of the monthly S01 and annual S02 deductions to the Tax Authority Jamaica within the statutory guidelines.
- Process Automated Clearing House advance payments, weekly taxi/ supper and other ad hoc payments as needed.
- Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
What do you need?
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline or the successful completion of the ACCA Level II qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
- At least one (1) year working experience in payroll accounting.
- Experience in processing payroll-related taxes.
- Sound knowledge in the use of computer software packages including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Strong ethics and high level of confidentiality.
- Working knowledge of tax/ labour laws in Jamaica.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to accommodate change and workload variations/ interruptions.
