This role requires the successful candidate to relocate to Bermuda. All relocation costs will be covered by the client.

Our client, a leading firm in the construction industry known for delivering high-quality projects and maintaining excellent standards of workmanship, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead financial operations and play a key role in the company’s continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting activities, ensuring financial integrity, and supporting the company’s strategic goals. This includes:

  • Managing all aspects of accounting, including accounts receivable/payable, billing, payroll, budgeting, general ledger maintenance, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Overseeing month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate financial statement preparation and analysis.
  • Monitoring and managing cash flow, funding balances, and financial risks, ensuring timely and effective accounts receivable collections.
  • Preparing and analyzing budgets, forecasts, and job costing reports to provide insights on financial performance.
  • Advising on financial strategies, investment opportunities, and ROI analyses to support business decision-making.
  • Partnering with the CFO to review, develop, and implement accounting policies, internal controls, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Acting as the primary liaison for external auditors, ensuring compliance with regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
  • Supporting contract pricing and margin analysis, ensuring profitability on projects.
  • Reviewing and approving payroll cycles, benefits payments, tax deductions, and employee reimbursements.
  • Collaborating with the finance team to foster a strong, knowledge-sharing culture and drive process improvements.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, ACCA, CA, etc.) is preferred. However, candidates with 15+ years of senior accounting experience, including 5+ years in a management role, will also be considered.
  • Proven experience in cash flow forecasting, financial analysis, and risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software. Experience with financial software implementations is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial data to different stakeholders.
  • Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
