Applications are invited from qualified persons for the position of Accounting Associate in the Investments Accounting & Treasury Management Department.

 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparing and ensuring the completeness of the monthly bank reconciliation for the bank accounts assigned.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of the bank balances as reflected by the General Ledger.
  • Ensuring the authenticity and accuracy of transactions itemized on the bank statements and reporting any discrepancies to the Assistant Manager/Manager for communication to the bank.
  • Verifying the clearance of cheques lodged to our bank accounts prior to any refunds being made.
  • Maintaining the analysis of the year-to-date consolidated bank charges.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

 

  1. A first degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Studies, Business Administration or any other related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution or equivalent professional qualifications.
  2. At least one (1) year working experience in accounting.
  3. Sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  4. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  5. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and Oracle systems.
  6. Meticulous, courteous and co-operative.
