JOB SUMMARY The primary duties of the Accounting Assistant - Treasury are to ensure cash tills from all cashing locations are cleared to the bank daily, prepare Bank reconciliations and verifying deposits from cashiers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Prepare and process journals to clear cash till from all cashing locations daily as well as other corrective journals as required
  • Bank charges, Gift Vouchers, Foreign currency deposits, returned cheques, etc.
  1. Prepare bank reconciliations as per policy – daily, weekly, monthly.
  • Maintain cash tills.
  1. Communicate with colleagues in several departments via phone and email to satisfy their requests.
  2. Prepare refund letters for reimbursements via Credit/ Visa card duplications (When necessary).
  3. Update treasury log with necessary information e.g. Cancelled receipts, returned cheques and split deposits.
  4. Prepare monthly stale dates cheques listing.
  5. Assist with the maintenance and schedules of all treasury related GL accounts.
  6. To utilize the CDK (dealership management system) to run department reports as requested.
  7. To provide assistance within the Finance department as required.
  8. To review monthly bank statements to verify cheques
  9. Ensure all HSSE and Housekeeping policies and procedures are strictly enforced and adhered to at all time.
  10. To perform any duties which are related but not limited to the above as requested by Management

  • Must be flexible

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • CAT/ Level 1 ACCA, Advanced levels or equivalent qualifications in Accounting
  • Advance computer literacy
  • Minimum 1-2 years accounting experience
