We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant with a minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting and holding ACCA Level 2 certification

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant with a minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting and holding ACCA Level 2 certification. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the accounting team with day-to-day financial tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with monthly reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. General Accounting Support:
    • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial statements, general ledgers, and trial balances.
    • Record daily transactions such as invoices, payments, receipts, and other financial entries into the accounting system.
    • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
  2. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
    • Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
    • Ensure timely and accurate payment processing for vendors and clients.
    • Assist in collecting outstanding accounts receivable payments and maintaining client account records.
  3. Financial Reporting and Compliance:
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
    • Assist with audit preparations and ensure that all financial activities comply with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
    • Prepare and submit tax filings, including VAT and other related reports.
  4. Expense and Budget Management:
    • Assist in managing company budgets and track expenditures to ensure compliance with set budget guidelines.
    • Review and analyze financial data to provide insights and support to senior accounting staff.
  5. Internal Controls and Documentation:
    • Assist in ensuring adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures.
    • Maintain accurate and organized financial records, both paper-based and electronic.
  6. Ad-Hoc Accounting Tasks:
    • Provide support for other accounting projects as required by the accounting department or senior management.
    • Assist in implementing improvements in accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • ACCA Level 2 or equivalent accounting qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a solid understanding of general accounting principles.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, and tax regulations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data.
