The accounting analyst is responsible for the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, insurance and collateral claims, petty cash reimbursements, handling repayments, journal entries and other duties during the month and year end close out process.

The Accounting Analyst is responsible for the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, insurance and collateral claims, petty cash reimbursements, handling repayments, journal entries and other duties during the month and year end close out process. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts
  • Reconciliation of Loans Receivables accounts
  • Prepare and request amendments to the bank accounts
  • Track the repossession and sale of assets
  • Record wire transfers recognized as loan repayment in Loan Software
  • Record wire transfers recognized as loan repayment in Accounting Software
  • Monitoring and reconciliation of the petty cash for all branches and others
  • Maintaining the list of accounts payables
  • Review and reconciliation of Credit Cards
  • Daily recording of Bill Express payments against Mambu and Quickbooks
  • Preparing Journal entries and reconciles GL to Subsidiary accounts
  • Preparation of Audit Schedules
  • Assists with Fixed Asset accounting
  • Other duties that directly relate to the function of the position of hire or as requested by the Senior Accountant or CFO
Qualifications
  • University degree in accounting, finance or business studies
  • 3+ years’ accounting experience
Functional Skills and Abilities 
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify, prevent and correct errors/deficiencies in accounting
  • Knowledge of IFRS, especially in relation to fixed assets accounting
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
  • Initiative to identify and implement process improvements for the role, department and business
  • Highly intelligent, highly motivated with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines, enforce deadlines and work under pressure
  • Highly Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills
