The Accountant provides an overall supportive role for the Finance Division with great emphasis and key focus on settling all local payment obligations, managing the financial reporting of the IMG Gases portfolio, as well as providing monthly expense variance analysis and reporting on price forwarding. The jobholder also has the responsibilities for organizing cyclical stock counts.

Core Functions

• Monitors local payables ensuring that all suppliers are paid in timely manner and reconciles major suppliers.
• Review gross profit by product type for the Industrial and Medical Gas Division and provide variance explanations.
• Prepares monthly cost of sales computation and inventory alignment for the Industrial and Medical Gas Division
• Provides supervision to direct reports; monitors and verify daily output to ensure accuracy and compliance with established procedures and policies.
• Assists with the preparation of financial statements and records and provide explanations for variances in the monthly reports.
• Prepares Audit Schedules for internal and external audits and assist with the preparation of the Annual Budget exercise. 
• Prepares/reviews payrolls and ensure that transfers are submitted for timely processing.
• Prepares monthly GCT computation and upload online portal on a timely basis.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree Accounting or ACCA
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in related area, 3 of which must be at a supervisory level
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
