Accountant

The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making. This role requires proficiency in book balancing, financial projections, and managing diverse revenue sources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconciliation of bank accounts weekly.
- Verify Linx and credit card transactions monthly.
- Verify deposit reporting by all revenue centers.
- Preparation of Monthly and Fortnightly Payroll.
- Preparation of ACH and online payments as necessary.
- Oversee utility payments
- Preparation of statutory returns (NIS, HSC, VAT, Business Levy and Green Fund Levy).
- Preparation of Cash flow projections weekly.
- Preparation of Monthly Financial Statements and or Management reports as requested.
- Keep schedules of Fixed assets and Depreciation.
- Ensure accuracy in General Ledger accounts.
- Ensure accuracy in Payable and Receivable Sub-Ledgers.
- Reconcile and adjust sub ledgers and clearing accounts with old brought forward amounts.
- Ensure accuracy in billing for trans-shipment, car park, grocery and gas station accounts.
- Ensure accuracy in entries of receipts for membership and other related dues.
- Remit Statements to members with debit facilities on a monthly basis.
- Oversee stock movements in grocery and gas station.
- Oversee the entries of: Cash receipts, deposits, revenue, cheque payments, cash payouts, payable invoices, utilities, monthly recurring expenses, payroll and any other entries as becomes necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation and/or ACCA Level 1preferred.
- Minimum of [3] years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit or association environment.
- Proven experience in book balancing and financial projections.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, etc.) and MS Office Suite
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
