Job Title – Instructor – Guyana Operations

 Purpose/Summary

To effectively deliver both theoretical and practical training elements. Instructors will also provide assistance for all practical and maintenance activities while ensuring the safety and welfare of themselves and others at all times.

 Key Responsibilities & Main Activities

  1. Routinely liaise with Training Supervisor to execute day-to-day activities efficiently, effectively and professionally.
  2. Deliver training in compliance with relevant standards and guidelines.
  3. Safeguard the health, safety and welfare of all parties during training activities by ensuring everyone follows RON’s Safe Systems of Work.
  4. Maintain the Quality Assurance system (documents and records) relevant to job function and ensuring the same is done by members of the training team.
  5. Where relevant, assist in the training and development of staff; and to undertake additional/ongoing training/assessments as directed by Company, to ensure necessary competencies are maintained.
  6. Take personal ownership of upholding ones competence levels.
  7. Contribute to the review/design and development of current and new courses.
  8. When required, ensure a high operational readiness of all equipment is sustained, including conduction of appropriate safety checks and maintenance.
  9. Contribute to a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness throughout the entire establishment.
  10. Participate in Operations Meetings.
  11. Handle all other duties as may be assigned by the Operations Manager and the Managing Director from time to time.
  12. Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.
  13. Ensure all activities are concluded in compliance with Group and Company HSEQ requirements

 Requirements:

Applicant must be a Guyana national

 Certification & Competencies:

  • Recognized SCUBA certification will be considered an asset
  • Lifesaving or water safety  certification will be considered an asset
  • Proficiency in swimming will be considered an asset

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience in lecturing or teaching will be considered an asset
  • Involvement in Health Safety and Environmental activities will be considered an asset

 Skills:

  • Organized, planning  and time management
  • Receive and give instructions properly
  • Good Communication
  • Ability to operate in a physically demanding environment
  • Good interpersonal skills, cooperative spirit and ability to work with teams
