Our Client, an organisation in the oil and gas industry, is seeking to fill the position of Manager, Maintenance Planning.

JOB PURPOSE

The Manager, Maintenance Planning ensures facility compliance with the work management process and continuously improves the work management process to deliver safe and efficient execution of routine maintenance and Turnaround work.  The incumbent leads the planning, scheduling, work package preparation and logistics and drives the implementation of a high-quality planning-scheduling standard for the entire division.  The incumbent is expected to build a highly capable team that delivers quality work plans that meet or exceed the planning standard and an integrated maintenance schedule in support of the successful execution of routine maintenance, turnaround activities, as well as planned and unplanned outages.  The jobholder will ensure quality and timely input into the schedule for the Asset Integrated Plan Process.

This role also ensures planning and execution of corrective, preventative and predictive maintenance, as well as equipment problem assessment and response repairs on rotating and other equipment.

  

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensures compliance with the work management process (Maintenance Workflow) by administering the governance process.
  • Leads continuous improvement projects and work package standardization aimed at improving Maintenance & Turnaround Planning in support of successful maintenances execution.
  • Leads the team to deliver high quality work plans that meet or exceed the planning standard and produces an integrated schedule that delivers high work order compliance.
  • Leads the Logistics team in delivery of an optimal logistic plan (contractor and equipment resourcing) to support Maintenance and Turnaround successful execution.
  • Creates and manages the Maintenance Planning OPEX budget.

  

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • A first degree (B.Sc., BEng or BA.Sc.) in a relevant Engineering discipline, or a related discipline from a recognized and accredited institution.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years’ relevant experience in the planning and execution of maintenance work, with at least five (5) years’ experience at the senior supervisory level. 

OR

  • A Technician’s Diploma or other equivalent qualification from a recognized, accredited institution and
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years’ relevant experience in the planning and execution of maintenance work, of which ten (10) years must be in a senior supervisory capacity.
