Grantley Adams International Airport Inc. (GAIA Inc.)is a private company, mandated by its sole shareholder, the government of Barbados, to maximize the commercial potential of the airport. GAIA Inc. was established by an Act of Parliament in 1998, and all rights and responsibilities for the running of the commercial operations of the airport were transferred to the company. As a private company, GAIA Inc. has more flexibility to make quick decisions as may be required by commercial markets. The Company is structured along five functional areas namely, the office of the CEO, Finance & Accounting, Human Resources Engineering & Operations. In 2007, over two million passengers either departed, arrived or transited Grantley Adams International Airport.
