Jobseekers will be using their summer breaks to check out the job market and look for new opportunities.
Holidays are usually the time for relaxing, but this year for more and more UK workers it will be a case of “Sun, Sand and CV”. In its latest web poll, global recruitment company Robert Walters, found that respondents will be using their summer breaks to check out the job market and look for new opportunities.
The results reveal that nearly two thirds (62%) of respondents would be working on the CVs as well as their tans on their breaks. By contrast, only one third (33%) of respondents would be using their holiday purely for the more traditional pursuit of relaxation.
Commenting on the results of the poll, David Chancellor, Director of Robert Walters, said, “Holidays are always good times to pause, reflect and get real perspective, to work on CVs and also to do job hunting away from prying eyes. The advent of wireless technology and easy internet access makes remote communication with recruiters today incredibly easy.”
The autumn is traditionally busy time for people looking for new jobs, but job hunters will need to be quick off the mark to compete with the holiday jobhunters.
