CTS College featured in the Trinidad Guardian

Working in the customer service industry in Trinidad

It is often said that customer service is a lost art, the fundamental principles and genuine care for the customer is almost nonexistent in most service industries today. Over the years however, one institution which has managed to deliver and maintain a high level of quality customer service is CTS College of Business and Computer Science. According to its Academic Director Mr. Ravi Ragoonath, customer service and genuine care for his students is the foundation upon which the college’s success and reputation is built on.

Founded in 1999, CTS College of Business and Computer Science (CTSCBCS) offers a wide range of programs from secondary to post graduate degrees. It has evolved into one of the most respected academic institutions in the country, producing high quality and well rounded students to match the capabilities of any graduate in the world.

Throughout the years, students of CTS College have won numerous world prizes at the various diploma, higher diploma and degree programmes and students continue to perform well at the academic level. Mr. Ragoonath credits this success to the hard work by their students and by investing in and supporting a culture of “education beyond academics”. The support provided by the college did not go unnoticed, at the recent Quality in Tertiary Education Awards hosted by the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago, CTS College was awarded 2nd Place in Student Support Services. It was the only private institution to have won an award and as stated by Mr. Ragoonath “the victory is not just ours, but for all private institutions. Since our inception in 1999 CTS has always valued our students and we always strive to provide education beyond academics. Throughout the years we have partnered with our many stakeholders including students, lecturers, ACTT, and our staff to ensure quality education was being delivered…..we could not have done it without our students and lecturers! This achievement was certainly a rewarding and humbling experience”.

Mr. Ragoonath and his partner/Administrative Director Mr. Nigel Polar believe that focusing only on profits is a shallow goal if it is not linked to creating value for their students and giving back to the community. According to Ragoonath, “our greatest strength is our relationship with our students and we strongly believe in our core value Education Beyond Academics”. As such, the college has invested in a full scholarship programme where successful applicants’ entry into the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Business Administration and Bachelors in Business Administration programmes will be paid in full. “We will consider the financial needs, academic performance and contribution to CTS life as the main criteria for students being accepted for the scholarships” says Ragoonath. He believes that the awarding of the scholarships is CTS’s way of giving back to students and providing for persons who are truly deserving of a recognised academic qualification but simply cannot afford to.

For further information on the scholarship programme, interested persons can visit the college’s website www.ctscbcs.com/scholarship or contact Mr. Ragoonath at 777-1294
