JOB PURPOSE
The Manager - Digital Strategy is accountable for developing and delivering cutting edge digitalisation initiatives to enable strategic business transformation. The position will continuously champion strategic technological opportunities to deliver solutions, enhance existing business processes and transform how business is conducted to create and add value to the company. The incumbent will incorporate business process and associated technology developments to deliver digital solutions such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality and predictive analytics.
Digital Strategy represents the "technological innovation hub" of the company and will drive the use and interpretation of the Company's data utilising data science and data analytics techniques for effective data management. This includes the development and maintenance of a suitable, fit for purpose data repository such as a data lake in which all the company's data can be harnessed.
Developing the digital skills set among the rotating members of the Digital Strategy unit is a key requirement of this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops, maintains and facilitates the implementation of a sound and integrated
- Digital Strategy operating framework.
- Manages the portfolio for Digital Strategy for ongoing technology projects, pilot projects, proof
- of concepts, feasibility studies and exploratory new technologies.
- Manages the company's analytics profile, sets the data foundation in order to perform robust analytics across the various organisational functions.
- Develops and implements procedures to guide business process owners in the development of principles on the proper use and deployment of technology delivered via the Digital strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE
- A first degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Management of Information Services, or a closely related field from a recognised, accredited institution.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience, with at least five (5) years' experience at the senior supervisory level.
- Managerial experience will be an asset.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry will be an asset.
- Familiarity or experience in working with process control networks will be an asset.
