GROCERY SUPERVISOR

Job Summary:

The Grocery Supervisor will ensure that the department is operating in a smooth and responsible manner. This will include ordering & rotating stock to maintain proper inventory levels, quality, and freshness. The supervisor will ensure that the grocery department is in presentable condition at all times, while ensuring customer service is the number one priority.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist the Manager with ordering, merchandizing, and customer service.
• Assist the Manager with the supervision of employees in the department. This includes assisting with scheduling, directing the work, and assist with staff training.
• Ensure the department is tidy and well stocked at all times. Build displays, stock merchandise, rotate products in accordance with expiry dates.
• Ensure price tags are accurate.
• Receive incoming deliveries, review invoice accuracy, and inspect products to ensure they meet our quality standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Degree in Business Management with strong exposure to Purchasing and Inventory Management or equivalent
• 2+ years relevant experience (including 1+ years of previous management experience), or satisfactory combination of education and experience.
• Strong leadership  and people management skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong customer service  and selling skills
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of inventory management
• Working knowledge of Public Health Regulations
• Emergency management skills
• Good dispute resolution and negotiation skills
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
