Senior Social Worker (SWG/PS 3) - Western Region
REHABILITATION TRANSITION AND SOCIAL SERVICES
The Jamaica Council for Persons with Disabilities (JCPD) is seeking to identify a suitably qualified candidate to fill the above-mentioned post.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will ensure:
- Work Plan developed/implemented/monitored for Disability Management Officers (Western Region)
- Assist with issuing certificates to registered PWDs
- Supervise the critical data collected for the development of programs and policies for disability support
- Assess clients' cognitive abilities and physical and emotional needs to determine appropriate interventions
- Develop and implement behavioral management and care plans for clients
- Keep records or prepare reports for owner or management concerning visits with clients
- Visit individuals in homes or attend group meetings to provide information on agency services, requirements, or procedures.
- Submit reports and review reports or problems with superior.
- Oversee the collection of case history records and reports
- Recommend access to Financial Support & Employment for PWDs
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
The position requires any of the following qualifications/experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, or related discipline
- Five (5) years related work experience, with at least two (2) in managerial/supervisory position
- Training in Project Management and Supervisory Management
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
The position requires any of the following knowledge/skills:
- Data Collection and analysis
- Statistical software computer programs and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of GOJ regulations, policies and procedures
- Knowledge of the JCPD’s policies and procedures governing disability management
- Knowledge of the Disability Act including its regulations, precedents and other relevant laws
- Knowledge of the functioning of the Disability Rights Tribunal
- Report Preparation
- Networking
