Voucher Preparation Officer (FMG AT 1)
FINANCE & ACCOUNTS
The Jamaica Council for Persons with Disabilities (JCPD) is seeking to identify a suitably qualified candidate to fill the above-mentioned post.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:
- Generate payroll
- Pay suppliers
- Check vouchers and claims properly
- Maintain payable accounts and records
- Prepare operational reports
- Produce outstanding items list
- Maintain files and records
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
The position requires any of the following qualifications/experience:
- BSc Accounting or Finance degree from a recognised institution; and
- At least two (2) years’ experience in Government accounting.
OR
- Associate degree in accounting or business administration from a recognised institution; and
- At least five (5) years’ experience in Government accounting
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
The position requires any of the following knowledge/skills:
- Knowledge and understanding of the accounting principles and general ledger transactions
- Knowledge of relevant Government of Jamaica accounting procedures
- Knowledge of computerized accounting systems
- Expert knowledge of the Public Bodies Management and Accountability and the Financial Administration and Audit Acts
- Good risk management and networking skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Good organizational and time management skills including the ability to handle tasks simultaneously
- Ability to produce work with detail and accuracy
