Job Description: Junior Accountant
Overview
A Junior Accountant supports the accounting department by performing essential financial and administrative tasks. This role is ideal for individuals starting their careers in accounting, offering opportunities to develop skills and gain experience in various aspects of financial management.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Record Maintenance:
Record and reconcile daily financial transactions, including journal entries.
Update and maintain the general ledger.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Process invoices and payments for accounts payable.
Generate invoices, track receivables, and follow up on overdue payments.
Bank Reconciliation:
Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
Monitor cash flow and prepare bank deposits.
Administrative Support:
Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
Assist senior accountants and managers with ad hoc tasks.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Progress toward professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks and Turbo Pay).
Strong Excel skills and familiarity with other MS Office applications.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
