JOB SUMMARY:
A medical support professional who performs a variety of tasks to assist physicians/dentists in providing patient care (both administrative and medical) whilst ensuring the smooth and efficient running of clinic facilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative:
1. Perform Admin-CSR/ Front Desk Duties.
- Scheduling and management of appointments
- Arrange patient’s admission and procedures.
- Organizing and filing of patient’s medical record.
- Following up with patients via phone calls, emails etc.
- Be an effective CSR – Patient encounters, answering phone calls, handling patients’ inquiries, must be knowledgeable on all information pertaining to the Company and the various services offered
2. Perform Book-Keeping Procedures
- Perform billings and collection procedures such as receipts, encounter forms etc.
3. Process Insurance Procedures
- Complete insurance claims and queries
- Use insurance online systems
- Effective application of price list schedule.
4. Clinic Specials and Programs.
- Keep up to date with clinic specials and programs such as Massy /ANSA Medicals and My Card, Wellness medicals etc.
- Assisting in the marketing and promotion of programs.
5. Know and use the relevant forms and documents for each program.
Clinical
1. Fundamental Principles
- perform hand-washing techniques
- perform sterilization techniques and wrap items for sterilization
- dispose of bio-hazard materials
- practice safety precautions
2. Diagnostic Testing/Procedures
- Perform vital signs and clinical assessment
- BP, pulse, height, weight, BMI, body measurements, glucose stick.
- Perform urinalysis
3. Patient Care
- Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas
- Prepare patients for routine and specific exams
- Assist prepping patients for nebulizer/wound care/vaccines and other treatments
4. Client Types, Products -Services & Process
- Know the different market segments, companies, clients, programs etc. & scope of services offered E.g.
i. Life insurance companies: (medical request forms)
ii. Health plans (Cari care, Beacon, Pan American etc.)
iii. Corporate and occupational health
iv. Lab services, DNA paternity tests, drug testing
v. Specialist services,
5. Perform Phlebotomy
6. Label, Process and Package Blood/ Lab Specimens for Transport to Lab

KNOWLEDGE:
- Must possess a certificate in Nurse’s Aide/ Dental Assisting
- AMT Phlebotomy Certification/ or certification from a recognized institution- Must be able to perform Phlebotomy.
- Must be able to prep and Perform ECG
- Must be able to collect specimens for DNA Testing.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
❖ Minimum of 5 O’ Levels / CXC or Equivalent inclusive of, Mathematics and English.
❖ Two A’ Level / CAPE or Equivalent
❖ Time Management Skills
❖ Must possess a certificate in Nurse’s Aide/ Dental Assisting
❖ Must possess a phlebotomy certificate from an accredited institution
❖ Must be Computer Literate (Microsoft Office)
❖ The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
❖ The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
❖ Minimum of 1 Year’s- Experience in the field / in a similar position.
