Job Summary:
The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that the products, raw materials, packaging, and manufacturing processes are checked and meet the established company quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Container and Product Inspection:
- Inspect raw materials for contaminants and defects and document the products placed in the quarantine area.
- Perform line inspections on all manufactured products.
- Assist in verifying batch and lot numbers on raw materials from COAs and finished products and file documents.
- Assist in conducting quality checks on trucks and food containers.
2. Environmental Monitoring:
- Document temperature and humidity in the warehouse and production areas on a daily basis to ensure compliance with product proofing and other requirements.
- Verify that the production baking tools are clean and in good condition before use.
- Assist in conduct Air Quality checks and product collection and testing.
3. Pre-Operational and Operational Checks:
- Ensure the machines and manufacturing areas undergo pre-operational checks before production begins once per week.
- Assist in conducting swab tests on the food contact surfaces.
- Monitor the water quality in all water outlets in the vicinity of the production and warehouse area by conducting tests and documenting non-conformances and corrective actions.
4. Document Control and Reporting:
- Ensure quality control documents (inspection reports, pre-operational checklist, etc.) are completed accurately and signed by relevant staff.
- Assist with customer complaints documentation and reporting.
5. Compliance and Safety:
- Assist in ensuring staff adherence to safety protocols, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and zero accidents or violations.
6. Customer Focus and Satisfaction:
- Assist the Food Safety and Quality Officer in maintaining the quality and environmental standards of products to meet customer expectations.
7. Support to Laboratory and Testing:
- Assist in lab testing and quality control processes, including collecting samples and ensuring accurate documentation of test results.
- Assist in developing product specifications based on data from product-supporting documents.
- Support the team in maintaining lab equipment and materials.
- Assist in conducting shelf-life monitoring testing on all products manufactured.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Bio Chemistry, Quality Control, or a related field.
- Certification in HACCP, GMP and other Food safety, quality or production certification
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to perform inspections and maintain accurate records.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Analytical skills for testing and inspecting materials.
- Experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment, with a focus on quality control a definite advantage.
- Knowledge of GMP, GLP, and safety regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
