Assistant Manager for Underwriting & Claims
Century Insurance Agency Limited – General Agent of NAGICO Insurances is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Manager for Underwriting & Claims to add their vision and drive to our team in the British Virgin Islands. This role will oversee the day to day administrative and technical supervision of our Client Service team.

Key Responsibilities includes but is not limited to:
- Oversee the client service team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to ensure excellent customer service delivery.
- Manage the workflow of the team to ensure performance standards are met.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and develop training plans to ensure team members are equipped to meet service standards.
- Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Maintain policies, procedures, and guidelines for customer service, underwriting and claims handling.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and make informed decisions on policy acceptance and claims handling.
- Review and approve insurance policy documents and claims files to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of insurance policy documents and claims, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular audits and quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of insurance policy documents and claims handling.
- Develop and implement effective service strategies to meet business objectives, drive business growth, improve customer satisfaction and improve profitability.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and areas for improvement, and develop strategies to address these areas and optimize underwriting and claims processes.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve any customer complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and product knowledge to ensure compliance and provide expert advice to customers.
- Develop and maintain accurate records and reports, including customer feedback, complaints, and performance metrics.
- Prepare and present reports to management and other stakeholders.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of insurance principles, practices, and regulations having attained or pursing dip CII, ACII or CPCU qualification.
- Four (4) or more years’ experience in related insurance field (previous Supervisory experience is a plus).
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Excellent organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage staff and projects.
- Ability to set priorities and multitask in fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Customer oriented with the ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
