Underwriting Associate
Reporting to the Reinsurance & Non-Motor Underwriting Manager, the incumbent is responsible for assisting with the implementation of the company’s non-motor operations strategy by assessing prospective customers, reviewing and processing binder based on approved broker slips. They will also be responsible for liaising with key stakeholders to ensure the customers’ transactions are expedited and customer’s commitments are met, processing and dispatching cancellations received from the Finance Department and reviewing registry items for follow-up transactions.
The position is based in Kingston. Our ideal candidate is a dynamic and organized individual, with strong communication, networking and relationship building skills. At minimum, applicants should possess the following:
- First Degree in Business Management or related field
- Motor and Property Salesman (technical training in all classes of business would be an asset)
- A minimum of two (2) years’ related industry experience
- FSC Registration in at least Motor and Property classes of insurance
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to work as part of a team or individually
- Good time management and the ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite [EXCEL, Word, PowerPoint etc.]
