
CAGE (Guyana) Inc., is seeking a suitably qualified candidate to fill the position of Senior Accounting Clerk, according to the following criteria:
Job Summary:
Performs a range of accounting functions to facilitate efficient and effective operations. Provides administrative support to the department as required. Maintains and supports effective staff and customer relationships.
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar qualification from a recognized academic institution.
- A minimum of ten (10) years’ proven accounting experience.
- Advance Excel certification.
- Experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamic Great Plains or other accounting software.
- Certification in Computer Applications including Microsoft Office suite.
Special Job Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
- Accuracy/attention to detail.
- Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Experience with bank reconciliation, taxation, month end closing and budget preparation.
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks;/Microsoft dynamic Great Plains.
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
- Excellent communication and administrative skills.
- Exceptional time management and organization skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exhibits professionalism while collaborating at various managerial levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Researches, tracks and restores accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
- Records day to day financial transactions and completes the posting process.
- Completes tax reports and prepares annual returns.
- Provides accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
- Responsible for the filing of monthly VAT tax returns.
- Conducts periodic reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts in a timely manner to ensure their accuracy.
- Completes general ledger postings and reconciliation of accounts and statements.
- Maintains Chart of account.
- Records cash receipts and prepares bank deposits of payments received from customers and other sources.
- Completes detailed journal entries and month-end reconciliation.
- Maintains an orderly accounting filing system.
- Produces ad hoc reporting as requested by management.
- Provides assistance and support to company personnel.
- Assists with financial statements.
- Performs any other functions as required, to ensure or facilitate the effective and efficient operations of the company.
