Store Manager – Retail
Job Overview:
The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing daily store operations, ensuring sales targets are met or exceeded, and delivering exceptional customer experience. This role involves leading a dynamic team, optimizing store performance, and maintaining a well-organized and customer-friendly environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive sales by actively engaging with customers, understanding their needs, and recommending suitable products.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships while identifying new business opportunities through referrals and social media.
- Monitor market trends and product performance, providing recommendations for new products or improvements.
- Ensure the store is efficiently staffed at all times by managing employee schedules.
- Attend monthly sales meetings to review performance and strategize future sales initiatives.
- Visit clients and introduce the full range of available products.
Operational Duties:
Cash & Financial Management:
- Ensure proper cash handling and security procedures.
- Maintain cash floats, process daily sales reconciliations, and prepare bank lodgments.
- Oversee petty cash usage and ensure timely reimbursements.
Stock & Inventory Management:
- Track product movement, ensuring timely stock replenishment and proper storage.
- Maintain a structured ordering system to avoid stock shortages.
- Conduct routine quality checks and ensure products are displayed efficiently.
- Coordinate with the warehouse for deliveries and inventory updates.
Team Leadership & Performance Management:
- Provide ongoing training and mentorship to staff.
- Maintain employee records and enforce store policies.
- Ensure team members uphold store standards and deliver excellent service.
- Manage disciplinary processes and payroll submissions.
General Managerial Responsibilities:
- Oversee store opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure store security for staff, customers, and merchandise.
- Stay updated with industry trends to improve customer experience.
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and stock-taking activities.
- Analyze weekly sales reports and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Create schedule and assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the store and facilities.
- Perform any other duties and/or responsibilities given within the legal framework as Store Manager, whether minor, major or incidental tasks related to this portfolio.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 4 years in a senior retail management role.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional customer service and relationship-building abilities.
- Experience in pricing, inventory control, and vendor relations.
- Strong communication and strategic planning skills.
