Position Summary
The Housekeeper will provide cleaning services, to rooms and lobby area according to the Guest House standard. The Housekeeper will ensure guests are treated with courtesy and maintenance deficiencies are reported to the relevant authority. This position supports the general operations of the Resort by maintaining the quality standards of the Resort.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively and in a professional manner to all clients, co-workers and associates as necessary.
- Maintain periodic checks on furniture and fixtures and report any repair works or deficiencies to Manager on a timely basis.
- Ensure maintenance of an adequate supply of necessary linen, equipment and material and communicate shortages immediately.
- Liaise with the Front Desk in keeping room status reports current through the notification of all arrivals, departures, room moves, special requests, stay-overs and room availability.
- Perform daily, detailed cleaning of all public areas that is the office and administrative areas, washrooms and lobby as assigned.
- Maintain and sanitize all guestrooms daily in accordance to established cleanliness standards and prepare accommodations conforming to special requests whenever possible.
- Set up, organize and replenish all stationery, furnishings, supplies and amenities in guestroom according to established standards.
- Maintain the cleanliness, neatness and organization of the housekeeping lounge as well as housekeeping carts and utensils at all times.
- Adhere to lost and found procedures.
- Refer comments and complaints to Guest House Manager as required.
- Perform any other related duties as required by the job function.
General Qualification and Experience
Education
(1) 2 CXC O’Levels including English Language / School Leaving Certificate
Experience
(1) At least one year experience in a similar or related job
Technical Knowledge
(1) Ability to read and understand simple instructions
(2) Knowledge of safety, emergency and accident prevention procedures
Other Requirements
(1) Must be able to work with strong chemicals and safely use chemicals for cleaning purposes
(2) Some level of physical dexterity
(3) Is conscientious of and preserves hotel personnel and guest security, property and privacy at all times
(4) Able to work on a shift system
