NATURE & SCOPE OF FUNCTIONS:
Receive repair orders and perform vehicle maintenance and repairs in accordance with manufacturers’ recommended procedures and to specified standards; resolve customers’ technical complaints in accordance with manufacturer’s procedures and specified standards. This includes examining, diagnosing, dismantling, removing and replacing defective mechanized parts; adjusting mechanized parts and performance of related tasks.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- 1. To demonstrate workshop dependability and reliability daily in accordance with work standards.
- 2. To perform professional Diagnosis assigned on Repair Orders according to specifications.
- 3. To perform Engine & Transmission Management & Repairs assigned according to specifications.
- 4. To perform Electrical Systems Diagnosis and Repair on repair orders according to specifications.
- 5. To carry out all diagnostics, maintenance and repairs effectively and efficiently.
- 6. To participate in projects, specially assigned tasks, overtime work and Weekend work when required.
- 7. To perform any related duties assigned by the Workshop Supervisor, Service Advisors or Service Manager.
- 8. Teamwork – works well with members of own department as well as those from other departments. Helps to prevent and resolve conflicts and promote mutual respect. Exchanges ideas and opinions.
- 9. Customer Service – to demonstrate knowledge of products and services offered. Build customer confidence and resolve customer complaints.
- 10. Communication and Interpersonal Skills - clearly conveying and receiving information and ideas through a variety of media and means to individuals and groups.
- 11. Problem solving and decision making ability. – ability to anticipate, identify and analyse problems and make sound decisions and recommendations
- 12. Health, Safety & Security – Adheres to health, safety and security rules, regulations and procedures including the use of safety equipment and wearing of safety gear.
- 13. Learning & Continuous Improvement – taking advantage of learning opportunities and using newly acquired knowledge and skills to improve the department/business.
- 14. Attendance & Punctuality – meets attendance requirements and adheres to stipulated time requirements for work and meetings.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- High school education with minimum Level III technical training.
- The abilities to read and understand schematics
- Minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Strong knowledge of standard practices, tools, and safety precautions in work environment.
- Ability to estimate time and material requirements for tasks
- Technical skills with a need to occasionally upgrade skills to meet changing job specifications and conditions.
- Manual dexterity, strength, endurance and flexibility.
- Able to work well with little supervision; attention to detail.
- Generally, the job requires 20% walking, and 80% standing. The job is performed under conditions with minimum exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
- Electric Vehicle skills would be an asset.
