The Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority (TTCAA) is mandated to regulate and administer a safe civil aviation system whilst ensuring that Trinidad and Tobago properly discharges its obligations under international civil aviation agreements and treaties. The TTCAA is seeking to recruit suitably qualified persons for the following position:
COMMUNICATIONS, NAVIGATION AND SURVEILLANCE (CNS) TRAINEE
The Communications, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) Trainee is required to successfully complete the initial training programme and, under supervision, assist in the installation, testing, maintaining and repairing of telecommunications, navigational and electronics equipment related to Air Navigation Services, both in Trinidad and Tobago, in accordance with internationally accepted quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend all scheduled training sessions.
- Achieve the standards of performance set out in the CNS Training Plan.
- Successfully complete the training within the stipulated timeframe.
- Maintain training competency in accordance with the CNS Manual of Operations and CNS Manual of Procedures.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance services under the supervision of the CNS Technician II or CNS Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- National Technician Diploma or Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering Technician or its equivalent.
- A minimum of five (5) CSEC, CXC or GCE O’ Level subjects, which must include English Language and Mathematics.
- Excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good understanding of digital electronics repair, networking and operating systems.
- Knowledge of LINUX will be an asset.
- Good communication, troubleshooting, analytical and observational skills.
